Special Response Team (SRT)
SRT will have a full SRT training day on March 9, 2023 from 0600-1800. SRT deputies you are expected to attend this training unless you are off for vacation or sick. We currently have 2 SRT spots open, if you are interested, contact Deputy Pappas, Your immediate Sergeant, or Lieutenant Fetner.
K-9 unit
K-9 units will be in Alpena for training 10/1-10/6. Get with your Sergeants to adjust your work schedules. There are currently no openings for K-9 units.
Honor Guard
The Honor Guard has been activated to provide services at a funeral on Tuesday March 7, 2023. The funeral is in Brighton. I'm estimating a start time for the Honor Guard Team of 0930 and they will be released from those duties at 1300. We currently have 1 honor guard spot open if anyone is interested, please see your immediate sergeant or Sergeant Kretzschmer ---Field Services Division.
Marine Patrol/Dive Team
As a member of the Dive Team you will be on call 24/7 for team activation to include rescue and recovery operations, and may also be used for PR events or underwater evidence recovery. Training will be provided through the County Dive Team. Team members are required to attend 8 trainings a year, pass a yearly physical and swim test. This is a minimum 3 year commitment. Must have successfully completed your probationary period at the Sheriff's department. Submit a letter of interest to Sgt. Steinaway no later than 1800 on 3/31/23.
